The Prime Minister will deliver the keynote address at the ceremony, which marks the official beginning of celebrations leading up to Malaysia's National Day on August 31 and Malaysia Day on September 16. A highlight of the proceedings will be the symbolic presentation of the Jalur Gemilang to a nine-member Royal Malaysian Navy contingent, who will raise a substantial 6-by-12-foot national flag as the national anthem Negaraku plays and the Rukun Negara pledge is recited. Enhancing the patriotic ambiance, the newly composed HKHM2026 theme song will receive its public premiere, performed by its composer, a distinguished local recording artist. Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad are confirmed attendees. This comprehensive sectoral involvement ensures that patriotic expression permeates virtually all societal structures, from workplaces to schools to places of worship.
Supplementary programmes scheduled during the campaign period include the Kembara Bahasa Hari Kebangsaan and RIUH Merdeka events, both operating under the broader Kira Detik countdown initiative building momentum toward the August 31 celebration at Dataran Putrajaya. The national-level Malaysia Day festivities will subsequently shift focus to Sarawak on September 16, emphasising the East Malaysian component of the national narrative and acknowledging the constitutional significance of Sarawak's inclusion in the federation.
