Malaysia's Finance Ministry and banking sector have jointly agreed to eliminate the RM1 fee for interbank ATM and SRM cash withdrawals from July 1, addressing financial hardship in underserved areas.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has called on bank customers who continue facing RM1 charges for interbank ATM withdrawals to lodge formal complaints with Bank Negara Malaysia, which can pursue enforcement action against non-compliant lenders.
